Town Of Gorham Historical Society

Ontario County, New York  State

Saturday, April 18th—Barn Survey Day.

This project involves taking a survey of all the barns that were built in 1904 or earlier in the Town of Gorham.

It is estimated that the Town of Gorham has 200 barns built in 1904 or earlier.  Teams of our members will be going out to take pictures, measurement, etc.  If at all possible we will try to call barn owners in advance to let them know our volunteers will be coming.  We began this project in 2004 and would like to complete it this year.  This project is in conjunction with the Ontario County Barn Survey.  If you would like to help with the project please email us at ghs@gorhamnyhistoricalsociety.org

Repair and Framing of 1915 – 17 map of Ontario County .  Some time ago the historical society received a $500.00 grant from

Wal-Mart to repair our 1915 –17 Ontario County Fabric Map.  Presently the map is undergoing cleaning, flattening, and mending of tears.  It is highly recommended that we finish this project with framing. In addition to the $350.00 for the restoration, the projected estimate for the framing is between $400 to $500

Donations are being accepted to complete this project.
